I’m keeping a free archive of my new weekly newsletter here on Substack. The site does enable a paid option, so if someone does want to support my work, I will not say no. However, I plan to keep the subscriber and free plans the same indefinitely (weekly newsletter, archives, commenting capacity).

And why subscribe ? This recent response from a reader illuminates what I hope to achieve with my writing:

“I’m not sure why I woke up at 5:30AM and decided to get up and make coffee – but I did.  Proceeded to check on emails and there was yours.  Wow. On so many levels, Matt.  Wow.

I had wanted to immediately send you a note, but instead I took my coffee, reread your email, and then proceeded to write three pages.  And started to scheme on my own Artist Dates.  And felt such a wave of good energy and hopefulness.

All the while thinking that here is someone who can write.  And through your writing, can inspire.  Because believe you me, the way you framed the elements from Cameron’s book, which I also have had on my shelf for 20 years, got me to take action. 

And I loved it – the time alone to sit and just let it flow straight out of my head.  I had a great old Bic pen.  And it was, as you simply put it – Morning Pages out.  I won’t bore you with how it all impacted me, the reference to Stoicism and negative visualization, the examples of Artist Dates. 

But suffice to say, I felt like doors had opened, and I had permission to walk through.  It’s my birthday today, and this was probably the best gift in a long time.  So just to reiterate, you have a gift for putting it on the paper.

Finally, I love how you brought it all home as relates to coaching.  Inspired!  And oh so true.  The way you expressed it is exactly how I think, and what I believe to be true.

Plus, and, I can’t think of a better way to reach people and share your core being with them; and invite them to work with you!  Brilliant.

So thank you Matt.  For making my day.  Giving me this sense of lift off.”
